Arcologies
Built by the corporations, arcologies are towering vertical ecosystems resembling megacities—glass-domed marvels of engineering, complete with climate control, simulated daylight, robotic servants, and the illusion of safety. These massive, floating structures are divided into multiple layers: the upper levels are home to the elite, offering luxury and advanced technology, while the lower tiers serve as military barracks, industrial hubs, and administrative sectors. Only the highest-ranking citizens, shareholders, or corporate operatives are granted access to these upper echelons, making them exclusive enclaves of power. Arcologies embody the corporate ideal: a society dominated by surveillance, efficiency, and digital control. However, beneath this perfect facade, there is an underlying fear—fear of rebellion, the outside world, and the ever-present threat of scarcity. These pristine cities are not immune to the dark forces that lurk outside their glass walls.
The Ruins
The ruins, once thriving regions, are now nothing more than smoldering remnants of human civilization. Scarred by acid storms, decaying AGI outposts, and the remnants of industrial warfare, these areas are rich in JOC Crystal deposits but also plagued by environmental hazards. Over time, the harsh conditions have transformed the inhabitants, with some devolving into scavengers while others have mutated into new forms of life. These ancient ruins are a lawless frontier, where survival depends on resourcefulness, strength, and alliances. Players venture into these once-great cities to battle mutated creatures, uncover long-lost technologies, and seek out JOC crystals. With unpredictable environmental dangers and rogue machines, the ruins are a hazardous and volatile wasteland, representing the remains of a bygone era that continues to haunt the world.
